Having successfully drilled a hole beneath Adams Avenue to the site of the new wing, workers began to bore the hole to accommodate increasing larger conduits. These pipes will contain electrical wiring and ventilation for heating and air conditioning for the new wing. Also, at the site of the HVAC plant, workers dismantled wooden supports from around the concrete framework.
June 9-14, 2002
During the week of June 9-14, workers continued to bore shafts beneath Adams Avenue and to insert long metal conduits for electrical and HVAC.
June 16-21, 2002
During the week of June 16-21, workers continued to bore shafts beneath Adams Avenue and to insert long metal conduits for electrical and HVAC. Also they assembled skeletal frames using rebar of eight-tenths of an inch thickness for support columns around what will be the elevator shaft.
